About

Zack Leaudais

I own a commercial gym on the Central Coast of NSW. Everything else I do started as a problem inside it.

Momentum Health + Fitness

Momentum is an 1800sqm gym in Charmhaven, co-owned with Michael Perry. We took on an empty shed and built it out — strength floor, group fitness, boxing, recovery, a crèche, and a 430sqm mezzanine that did not exist when we signed. The build is documented here.

It is not a franchise. The two people who own it are the two people you run into on the floor, which is also why the operational problems landed on us rather than on a head office.

Zalio

Running Momentum meant running more than ten separate tools that did not talk to each other, and none of which turned their data into anything the team could act on. The membership system knew who was lapsing. The billing system knew who had failed a payment. Nobody was told to do anything about either.

Zalio started as an internal fix for that. After speaking with more than twenty other gym owners it became obvious the problem was not ours alone, and it became a company.

GymFactories

Fitting out Momentum meant choosing multiple six figures of equipment from manufacturers we could not verify. The research that answered it became GymFactories — a free public directory with the verification evidence attached and a first-class list of what could not be confirmed. Listings are free and placement is never sold.

What I actually do now

I help gym owners improve their business operations by systemising broken workflows. Money, compliance and procurement — the parts that quietly cost the most and that owners are happiest to hand over.

The through-line across all three is the same: I would rather build the thing that fixes the problem than write advice about it. Here is how that works.
